When you get a good manager you have it made with a succession plan and if your eager and smart and are willing to put in the work then the sky is the limit
Cons
Pay has historically been lower with great benefits but they have narrowed their benefit coverages and kept bonuses lower and or capped so you are limited at a point and of the bonus goals in some segments are not achievable Negotiate 15% more than what you want going in so your not fighting inflation because like most corporate america they lock in annual increases capped at 5-6% which is lower than COL in many cases so you have to be promoted to get any significant increase and they try to limit that increase too. You will sometimes find when they need a role filled they will pay up to 30%+ more hiring someone from outside the company than paying you inside the company
