Pros

-Working onsite as government contractors lets us experience the relaxed federal work environment -Able to "clock out" at 40 hours or get OT due to contract guidelines -Health insurance package is about as good as they come, but is consequently fairly expensive

Cons

-Overall low morale due to past layoffs and continual cost cutting -Easily replaceable employees (early and mid career) tend to make well below industry average -Internal promotions and raises are rare, people are worked increasingly hard for a few years until they have to leave to get paid what they're worth -Most benefits besides health are below industry standard. Especially the new PTO system and the layoff and buyout packages. -Poor layoff practices, showed disrespect for employees. Company downplayed or hid ominous information to prevent employees from looking for other employment. -Nearly everyone is restricted to a "desk job" to avoid safety risk. Engineers and scientists want to get their hands dirty sometimes. -It seems like they don't trust employees and we are frequently treated like children to be lead around by the hand in all aspects of the job -Poor at utilizing employees skills, workers are crudely matched into jobs with few opportunities to expand. No opportunities to utilize cross-discipline skills.
