Pros

There really isn't any, I came in extremely motivated and excited about the opportunity and that quickly went out the window when I saw how dysfunctional, unorganized, and clique the company is.

Cons

• Lowballed on my offer letter by $20k from the initial conversations to align salary with "current employees" which was a lie • Extremely unorganized, good luck finding anything you need • Cross-functional collaboration is non-existent - no one here does anything, so if you need something from another team, good luck • Finance team is the worst I've ever worked with - not a single person in that department should have a job, they never work, are extremely lazy, and always make mistakes. Had several clients leave because of how dysfunctional they are • There is no management or leadership, they claim to have this "unique progressive" approach to business but that's a joke • My boss was worthless, never responded to my messages or request for help, but was quick to pounce on me if I was behind or made a mistake. Also always used her baby as an excuse The icing on the cake was being unexpectedly laid off because of "budget restraints", after being told several times we had nothing to worry about. Then later that week they announce a company acquisition and throw a party. If you see these reviews and still move forward, I feel sorry for you. You're going to have a terrible time.

Jellyfish Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we are sorry to hear that you are left with such a negative impression of us. As you mentioned, our Finance team has undergone some struggles, which is why we have implemented a new ticketing system to streamline requests. You are not alone in finding this frustrating to work through; all we can do is try to improve, which is what we are doing. However, change takes time. We would disagree that the team is lazy and ‘never work’ though, in fact quite the opposite, as Jellyfish has grown, they have an ever-growing amount of work to do, hence some issues around delivery. Without more detail on the key concerns you have around being disorganized or how you were managed, it’s hard to offer a constructive response to them. As you mention, we do have a model of distributed accountability, which does not suit everyone. We appreciate that the optics of making the difficult decision to let someone go and shortly thereafter celebrating an acquisition are not ideal, but the timing of these events is simply unfortunate, not connected. However, it must not have felt very good to witness this from the position you were in, and for that we can only apologize. Ultimately it sounds like you were not happy in the role so perhaps this is an opportunity to move to something new that aligns more with your expectations. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

None. Poor leadership, unrealistic expectations and a culture that prioritizes short-term revenue over both employees and clients

Cons

This is a textbook example of an agency where leadership is disconnected from the day-to-day reality of client work. Senior executives are heavily involved during the pitch process to win new business but once the contract is signed, delivery teams are left to manage accounts that were often under-scoped and aggressively priced to secure the win. Teams are then expected to account for every minute of their time in order to maintain profitability (time is precisely tracked on Salesforce) that were never realistically staffed or budgeted in the first place. The result is constant pressure, burnout and a focus on utilization metrics rather than delivering great work. Employee morale suffers from a culture that often feels driven by politics and favoritism rather than merit. Leadership messaging is heavily disconnected from the challenges teams face, creating a lack of trust throughout the organization. Client turnover has been significant and it's difficult to understand how some accounts have remained given the recurring operational issues. Overall, a frustrating environment marked by poor leadership, questionable decision-making and a toxic culture.
