Pros

- Valuable on-the-job training and high safety standards - Foot in the door for any position in the aviation industry (networking!) - Working on and around aircraft - Small discount at Phoenix Flight Academy - Very flexible scheduling, and easy to get time off (unpaid) - Optional 401K - LST position is overall an enjoyable job to have

Cons

- Pay at some FBOs is very subpar (I make $10 as an LST of 2 years) ^ EDIT: Pay has increased to $12.50 - No benefits until promoted beyond line service (can take years) - No PTO until promoted beyond line service - No longevity bonuses or raises (you'll have to ask, and no guarantees) - Hour cap per-FBO, so some people might not get enough hours depending on roster size

Pros

We have newer aircraft, for the most part. My coworkers are all great and we get along/work together to get what is needed done. Management also takes care of us by checking in, doing little events and hearing us out when there's an issue. It's the most family minded company I have worked for. All of the values Jet Access talks about I thought were just for face value like all the other companies. The longer I am here the more I can see that these guys actually mean it and it's impressive. I hope this goes on for a long time.

Cons

Pros

You get your 40 hours.

Cons

No overtime available because work isn't coming in. Mechanics are blamed for the lack of work. This company doesn't have the facilities to paint on aircraft, so they do it in the main hanger around unprotected Mechanics. When you voice your concern to management they blow you off and make you public enemy #1. One guy has issues with asthma and they paint around him. Safety is preached but not followed. Project managers can't handle the projects and come down to the floor to spead the happiness. All Mechanics here could get lung cancer from being exposed to paint vapors and dust. Don't work here because in the last 2 years I have worked here they let about 40 people go. Favoritism is rampant. Crew chiefs are invincible to making mistakes, even though I collect tools left on aircraft almost on a weekly basis and put them on there boxes. This company let 10 people go 2 weeks before Christmas, happy new year indeed.
