Pros
JetStream Federal Credit Union is great place to work! Senior management is very supportive and creates a very positive work environment. My co-workers are equally awesome, we all get along well, and together we have a fantastic team working together to support our community. Most employees have worked at JetStream for 10+ years, several have over 25 years of tenure, and we even have several employees that have left to work at other financial institutions, but returned because they found the “grass is not always greener on the other side”. We have had some turnover in my department of six people. Two of the younger staff recently completed their college degrees and left to take CPA positions in large accounting firms. And two staffers left to take management positions in other financial institutions. I think management has done a great job of training and developing employees. Most employees that do leave have gone on to better and higher paying positions. JetStream is very committed to supporting our community. As a Low Income Designated, Minority Owned, Community Development Financial Institution. JetStream has been able to secure approximately $10 million in US Treasury Grants that it has leveraged to provide several hundred million in financial products and services to low income communities that most financial institutions ignore.
Cons
The only con to working at JetStream is its relatively small size. With only sixty employees there is not as much opportunity as larger institutions to advance internally. But JetStream does a good job of providing a positive environment to learn and develop critical business skills and qualifications.
