Pros

Jiminny used to be a brilliant place to work. When the founders were present, we had an excellent team of high performing, happy individuals doing great work, and the company had a strong sense of direction and culture.

Cons

Unfortunately, things changed dramatically at the start of this year. Leadership turnover became frequent, with many talented leaders leaving after realising that the promises made to them about the company’s growth and direction were not accurate. It has felt like a recurring cycle: new hires are sold the idea that Jiminny is a "rocket ship" or a "leading tool," only to find the reality is very different. When the founders stepped down, the current CEO took over. While business-minded, they lead with little regard for the wellbeing of the team. Tools, benefits and office resources have been stripped away, redundancies have been made, often impacting crucial team members and client success has been outsourced to Bulgaria. There’s been no real initiative to build morale or foster a sense of community within the remaining team. All the while targets remain higher than ever with half the resource we had previously. Meanwhile, questionable hiring decisions have been made, such as, despite budget concerns, bringing in new leadership on a large salary who flew under the radar for 3 months and contributed nothing to the team or business. Jiminny once had incredible people and strong leadership, but sadly, that chapter has closed, and what remains is a company running on the bare minimum with a disengaged and unhappy team.

Pros

The founding team comes from a background of successful startups so they know how to grow and scale out the team. As an added plus they really trust each employee and empower them to bring about change and contribute to the company's goals. Having come from companies that focused on employee engagement Jiminny's leaders ensure the team is compensated and treated well.

Cons

As with any startup your building something that requires a little elbow grease. So don't be afraid to get in and roll your sleeves up!
