Cons
The first thing you'll notice working at Jonathan Y is the high turnover. 90% of the employees stay less than a year. They leave for positions that treat them fairly and pay what they deserve. The CEO cares about his company, but that care doesn’t extend to any of the people that actually make the business run properly. He has wild ideas for new ventures and it’s easy to see that they are going to fail. But, you still need to do what he tells you, or suffer excessive micromanaging and verbally abusive behavior. Salary is far below market rate and doesn’t keep up with inflation. The company is strict with clocking in and out, and employees are never trusted to do the right thing on their own. The PTO policy is pathetic, only 5 days off a year. Health insurance is better than nothing, but inferior to any competitors. If you don’t like any of these things, the CEO’s attitude is that you are a disposable person. You can leave and he will rush to get a replacement. This results in a constant cycle, where people leave at their first opportunity. No matter your skill set, you’ll be better appreciated somewhere else.
