Pros

Really fun group of people. We are all friends. Most of us hang out after work, and during work fun is encouraged as well. We've gone to the beach, bowling, and have office game days... and get paid to do it! Fast mobility, I've been promoted and received a raise all before a year of being here. I have had meetings with the owner and GM about ways I think the company can be improved, and some of my thoughts have already been implemented. There used to be poor policies and choices, but new changes and staff have created a new and bright atmosphere. And not that it matters, but I am not Mormon (as other posts made so clear were "cons"), nor are the majority of current management. The company is very accepting of all religious backgrounds, races, sexual orientation and appearance. I have quite a few tattoos, and not many jobs of an office setting are as relaxed about it. But this company is, and I don't feel the need to keep covered. Professional, friendly, and all around a group of good people. Good for anyone driven, who is hardworking, and wants to be a part of a team.

Cons

Saturday hours (every other, but Sundays always off), and most holidays are workdays. Pay is comparable, but still isn't breaking the bank. Over time is not required, but I certainly I'm not able to get all tasks done during the day without staying at least an extra 30 min a day. Summers are crazy, and not good if you have plans to take trips because it's the busy season and getting time off is difficult.

Pros

Cons

Here is a my story. Upon being hired, I moved my family from Tennessee to Illinois. Our first training was in Minneapolis. At our first meeting, I was told that I am “competing” for my job with the other new hire who was sitting next to me. During training, my training manager smoked weed. When I returned to Chicago, I killed it, and sold over quota my first month. The catch was that they hired too many sales guys for the market, and they were looking to alleviate the problem by giving a performance improvement plan. Two weeks into the plan, I was exceeding goals, when my Chicago manager asked if I wanted to switch to termite sales. He said this would be a solution to the problem of having too many sales guys for the insulation sales unit. Apparently that wasn’t the case, and despite hitting quota on insulation sales, I was fired a few weeks later. And what happened to the other guy that I was competing against? They let him go another month later despite hitting quota as well. The Chicago manager had the other three sales guys living with him at the time, and they padded their stats to tell a compelling story. I heard through the grapevine that sales plummeted after we left, and the company is for sale. Unless their is a drastic change in leadership and company culture, avoid Joshua’s at all cost. The greed and deception encouraged here is unparalleled.
