Pros
Got the chance to get to know some wonderful kids, whom I may foster once I get my license, worked with some great case workers who helped me to understand the foster system, and showed how much they care about the kids themselves. Provided me with the opportunity and guidance to learn how to be a case manager.
Cons
Overworked and underpaid. Offered a higher position, but wanted to pay the same rate. No communication between any of the staff. Would never have the same routine in submitting work forms, causing employees to get in trouble for the office staff's mistakes. Changed pay periods and hours without proper notification. Would receive high requests from foster parents and case managers to transport their children, earn praises from office staff and mangement, but told a year and half later there are no raises. Once a raise was received, it was only $.10. They want your life to be devoted to them, and your position, but will not provide the recognition deserved as well as pay.
