Pros
It's in a large town for Kansas, and if you can get into the local church and school community, it can be a nice place to raise kids.
Cons
All decisions and budget are controlled at the department level, meaning there are rich and poor departments across campus. Some classrooms have every electronic convenience, while others have chalkboards and a projector on a cart shared between all professors. The city is lacking in diversity, and not always welcoming to members of any minority - including working mothers and single women not wanting to settle down to a family. There is a portion of the student body which does not have to meet any admission standards beyond the high school diploma. That leads to a lot of remedial courses and uneven student performance.
