Pros
"Great culture" is overused here on Glassdoor and from what I've observed, they're mostly from fake reviews. At Kasada however, I can say that there is truly a great culture. I felt compelled to write this review because the ones written before this I think were looking quite fake (LOL) but I assure you they are real and honest. I've been at Kasada for almost a year now and here's what I have witnessed so far: - The leadership team is doing a good job. It's a software company and they know how to run it. - The company is good at hiring the right people - There are frequent leadership reviews on things like on-call compensation, salary, work/life balance, general happiness, etc - Even managers are receiving "management" training In turn, I've observed that people here are generally very smart, friendly and helpful. In fact there are people here who came from large companies (e.g. Canva, Atlassian, Facebook, etc) The other pros I've observed so far: - Full-time remote working (within Australia) - Great on-call compensations - Company swag - Above average salaries - 14-week parental leave, even for dads - Fun environment - Hackathons - Some customers are very well-known brands - Engineers actually write good code (!!!) Special shout out to Jorgie, who is also doing an amazing job at making the workplace experience really awesome.
Cons
Not really cons, but these some things some people might not be comfortable with: - Engineering teams have quite specific areas of responsibilities. In my opinion, this is good as you can focus on your area. However, it's not for people who want to experience and upskill on everything (e.g. working on infrastructure + data + front/end + whatever) - What the company does is quite niche (bot/automation defence), but I find the work really interesting - You might find their main codebase extremely complex, so it takes some time to understand things. The company understands this though.
