Pros
Students are inquisitive and engaged. The online library is easy to use.
Cons
-Regional campus faculty are treated like second-class citizens. - No opportunities for professional development unless tenured. -No academic freedom. Classes are "canned". Faculty are told to what and how to teach. -Lack of communication with the same department on the main campus. Excluded from department communications. -Lack of job security. As non-tenure track faculty, you are given a contract one academic year at a time. At the same time, you are told that you are not allowed to have outside employment without special permission. -Favoritism runs rampant. -Deans of the program and campus frequently threaten faculty that they will lose their jobs. -Mediocre instructors keep their jobs because they cower to management. -The salary for PhD prepared instructor was so low that I qualified for food stamps. -Enviroment was invalidating. Talents of individuals are not recognized.
