Pros
Mostly doing straight typing, which I prefer over voice recognition editing. Only occasionally run out of work, which is better than the last company I worked for. They try to keep the work flowing. Good software with few problems.
Cons
Low pay, which is typical nowadays. I used to make 3 times as much money 10 years ago as I do now. This profession has gone steadily downhill. Pay is often late, with no explanation or communication as to what's going on. I have worked here over 6 months now and have only been able to see a couple of my pay stubs. There is always an excuse as to why the pay stubs are not posted, and most paychecks seem to be lower than what I thought they should be. I believe I'm being shortchanged lines, because I keep meticulous track of my line counts, but because I haven't been able to access my pay stubs, I have no way to verify. No communication, and no way to know who to even contact when there is a problem, I only get shuffled from one person to another with no one every actually helping to resolve these issues. Also the only time you ever hear from anyone is if you make a mistake, no praise for all the times you've done things right. Rate the CEO? I didn't even know his name until I saw this questionnaire. I have no clue about who he is, his qualifications, etc.
