There is a good vision and reputation that Kiewit carries as a whole. It is a company that promotes from within its ranks. They have a second to none benefits package, and they are truly concerned with the wellness of the employees. This is a good company to join at the beginning of your career, especially if you are coming right out of college. There is a lot of room for employee growth.
Cons
There are a lot of sacrifices that you have to make in order to be an employee if your role is a field engineer. You will have to work onsite for a lot of hours, which will effect your personal life and give you a poor work life balance. You will learn at lot about the field you are working in but at an expense to the employee. You may tend to feel like a more of a piece to a puzzle rather than being viewed as a person. The hours are tremendously long and weekends will be worked, well over 60 hours a week.
