Pros

Working on a breakthrough product with top minds in the industry is really inspiring. Very stable and worked through design system as well as a component-driven approach on the front end really make the development faster and pleasant to work. The back end is fast and stable while engineers are very responsive and talented. From my experience what usually takes weeks in an enterprise is done in hours here. I am amazed at how much we've managed to accomplish in one year and it makes me feel like there is nothing impossible.

Cons

It still requires time and excellent hard skills to understand architecture and app state management because the level of complexity of the product area itself is very high. Also, you have to think quickly and always be able to explain your point of view. Nothing is taken for granted. Deadlines are hard that require good time management skills and the ability to prioritize. It indeed creates stress but at the same time allows you to grow and move faster.

Pros

- Employees outside of leadership were nice to work with

Cons

- From day one a very apparent burnout culture was present, could feel no-one in standup meetings was happy. Everyone seemed stressed and management was irate and snappy with overworked employees - Getting paid as a contractor was like pulling teeth. Asking for details on my timesheets like when I went for a toilet breaks etc which was in breach of contract and refusing to sign things off until I had. Being made to work public holidays like christmas day then being told I wouldn't be paid for these hours - Breached contract terms several times on different items and management was not interested in addressing/ resolving these issues - Poor direction from a product standpoint, felt like leadership did not know what they were doing The worst startup I have worked for to date and this is far from my first rodeo in the startup world.

Hi Ben Liger, We're sorry that you've felt that way and we'll definitely learn from that experience moving forward. As you make some very strong allegations here I believe it's important to add perspective by being transparent: 1. We've had a client project deadline for the first week of January and decided to outsource some of our tasks to a contractor for 3 weeks (with the possibility to extend by a week) to reduce the overall stress and workload of our employees before Christmas and New Year's Eve. Due to limited time available, we skipped our usual screening process and moved forward with your contractor agreement - in hindsight we've learned our lesson that we shouldn't do that. From the beginning, we had a software engineer on your side to help you with onboarding to the project, incl. understanding of the codebase and requirements for each deliverable. I believe our team was very patient with you - both from explaining and planning tasks with you as well as giving you continuous advice and feedback on how to deliver your project in good quality. In the end, we've had to make the decision to end the working relationship as our quality standards didn't align with the quality of the delivered work. We take full responsibility for that as we should have resolved that matter with our screening process before setting up a work agreement. 2. We've paid the full amount for your work agreement in advance to your agency and always fulfilled our contractual agreement. To approve the hours you've billed us I've asked for timesheets that contain start time, lunch break, and end time for each working day - something you didn't have. And even though these were missing, we've agreed to pay the entire amount that you billed us. You've never been asked to track toilet breaks, and we never made you work on public holidays. In fact, we even thanked you when you volunteered to do so. Best wishes, Val
