Pros
- Compensation
I feel reasonably compensated for the work I do.
- Flexibility
Kinetic offers 365 work-from-home-days, and basically the same amount of sick days. It's nice to be treated like an adult when it comes to taking care of your health.
- Increasing Community/Morale
There's been a push lately to encourage a stronger sense of community, and bolster morale, which has had success.
-OK Benefits
Reasonable coverage.
- Human Upper Management
The management is in the trenches, and are very accessible. They're very welcoming, and willing to engage on a personal level.
- People
The people are really great. All the teams are fantastic, and great to work with.
Cons
- Communication & Transparency
Often it feels like the employees are the last to know about changes that affect them.
- Low Morale
The nature of startups is there are ebbs and flows. Right now Kinetic is trying to create a sustainable plan for their financial future which, paired with poor communication, has negatively impacted morale.
- Long Hours
Given the nature of the business, occasionally (and much more frequently in the past) to meet tight deadlines, teams have had to stay very late, work weekends, etc. Efforts have been made to reduce this, but it's definitely a part of the package.
- No Investment Options
No RRSP matching, or stock options presently available.
