Pros
They have a decent roster system and are easy to work with when schedule changes arise. Pleasant work environment. Work loads are generally balanced. Good employee amenities. Flexible work hours. Managers are understanding and will treat you well if you treat them well. LGBTQ+ friendly. Great employee culture. Plenty of opportunities to pick up shifts when people cancel. You will not be discouraged against cancelling a shift but will treat you poorly if you are consistently cancelling. Success factors roster app is well designed and has many functions. Paychecks are easily accessed through the app and online. Training can be completed remotely. 6pm and weekend loading is generous. My experience has been improving consistently over time. Managers always pick up the phone. Free OnePass. Handheld pda is easy to use. Career progression is great. Employee recognition is encouraged. Store transfers are simple and flexible.
Cons
Self serve checkouts are constantly breaking due to old age, although this is only in old stores. I have asked to be trained on things and am told yes but am never trained. Training shifts are not done by managers and are instead the burden of team members. Many customers do not understand I have no control over rostering. Team members do not pick up phones, ultimately becoming the burden for service desk which is an impractical task as it is difficult to check stock during peak times. Central registers location encourages theft. Virtual training is unpaid. Bonuses are paid with in-store vouchers instead of paycheques. Shifts are often just under the minimum requirement for 15 minute breaks. Inventory system is horribly inadequate.
