Once you're in, you may not have the opportunity to move to other positions as easily as one may think. Current supervisor has to approve applying for other positions within company and if you do not have a good relationship with your supervisor, not good. Also, mgmt. looks at you differently when they hear you want out of a particular dept. Even when that dept may not be the right fit for you and you could excel in a diff position.
