Pros

Friendly and knowledgeable people serving as the backbone of the company

Cons

Management is increasingly inept at handling finances and people. Turnover is high across all levels and teams constantly have to be reorganized as a result. Key team members have left while layoffs come at seemingly random intervals (result of company hiring in waves then not knowing how to balance teams/budgets). Upper management will say one thing and you think they're transparent, then their actions go completely in the opposite direction. Not very trustworthy and unable to be direct.

Pros

Kubecost is an up-and-coming Fintech startup with broad horizons, with a focus that it's a startup through and through. This means hard work, good rewards, and an environment where you can have much input on how things unfold. Webb, a co-founder, is just about the sweetest and most empathetic founder I've had the pleasure of working with in my professional career so far and it's obvious he loves his team and the company. The DEI program is just getting off the ground and the product itself is genuinely improving with each release. I also believe that we are above water in times when the tech market is suffering as a whole, which is a strong positive.

Cons

For better or worse, some of the teams can be very turbulent in staffing, leadership, and the better-avoided hustle culture which churns through employee retention and holds teams back from becoming experts within their departments and the product. This is certainly a company I'd set strong expectations of having a good year or two before moving on to another role, either by burnout, or lack of stable leadership and mid to long-term goal planning on the team. Of course, this will improve as Kubecost grows, I believe.
