Pros
OK for somebody that just graduated college and is interested in Staffing/Human Resources. I would get your experience and stay for a year, tops... Other than that, there are not many upsides of working for this company....
Cons
Absolutely no work/life balance. You are required to work late nights and weekends almost every week. There were a few occasions where I was at the office until almost 11PM. The offices are extremely short staffed (only 2-3 people per office to handle hundreds of employees and countless clients). If a client calls you at 7PM on a Friday and needs 10+ servers the next day, you are required to work until the positions are filled. If not, you get in trouble. I remember one instance where I had to get surgery done and was out for a week. My phone was blowing up with employees calling, clients calling, etc. You feel obligated to work because you feel bad for the 1 other person that is left alone in the office picking up the slack while you are out... So, "vacation" isn't really "vacation". Upper Management is abrasive. Pay is extremely low... Pretty sure I started off at $26, 000 a year + commission and was required to work 60+ hours a week. Commissions was 1% I believe, paid out monthly, which is chump change compared to the amount of time and effort you put in. Benefits were barely existent. Basically, they don't take care of their employees at all for the amount of work you do. Internal employees are disposable to them. It was like a revolving door. As soon as a Staffing Manager was hired, they were right out the door within a year (company wide). The only reason why I accepted an offer here is because I was a recent grad with no experience and NAIVE. They like to take advantage of people in my situation, and they know it. They target young professionals that have availability to work all hours of the day and night. Clients are extremely inconsiderate. I got yelled at more times than I can count because a client, for example, ordered 4 bartenders and only 3 showed up (even if you overstaff). Meanwhile, you stay at the office late filling most of these last minute orders. It just seemed like whatever I did wasn't good enough - from Corporate, from the clients, from the employees. You get walked ALL OVER. Somehow Corporate always finds out about these things, too, by the way... So, if you get temps no call/no showing or if something happens at an event (even if it is beyond your control), the client will notify your boss or boss' boss and you get in trouble yet again. Also, I was using my personal cell phone for client and employee purposes. When asked if I was going to get reimbursed, Corporate ignored my calls and e-mails. I finally got a hold of someone about it and the response was, "I'll let you know. We'll wait to see next month." Next month came, and nothing. The month after that came, and nothing. I was being played -I was using my personal cell phone for a year straight without a dime reimbursed... Stupid on my end for putting up with it for so long, but goes to show how cheap and inconsiderate this company is. I have never done this before, but I quit on the spot the day I got an offer from another company. I was so desperate to get out that I took the first offer I received. Best decision I ever made.
