Pros

Great culture! The internal departments work well together as a team and a majority of the people I worked with made me feel like family. My direct manager was flexible and understanding when it came to taking an extended lunch for a personal appointment or leaving work early to participate in extracurricular activities. LMI offered opportunities to learn and room to grow into a desired role. They also offered multiple committees to join that gave employees the opportunity to interact with colleagues they may not get to see on a day-to-day basis, opportunities to voice their opinions, improve internal processes, plan and implement company events/contests, and focus on the safety of the company and it's employees. LMI is very involved in the community. From attending fundraising dinners, running 5ks in July, jumping in freezing water in February, and reading to children at the local elementary school, they are always willing to help a great cause they believe in.

Cons

If you are someone who is not dedicated and motivated, is not open to change, or does not want to learn and grow, this is probably not the company for you.

Pros

The family culture here is evident among the employees. With some exceptions, they make you feel like you are part of the family.

Cons

The company is led by immature individuals who have never held jobs in any other company or industry. They are very concerned with the image, but little substance behind it. For example, they talk about being responsible to the planet, but can't be bothered to recycle bottles or cans from the kitchen. They talk a lot about being "Woman owned" but the entire management is male (except for the retired CEO). They have SQF Level 3, but no one actually follows the procedures indicated (employees who have been there for long can do whatever they want, especially if they are members of the family). I have never seen so many people fired without explanation or reason. They just disappear from one day to the next. And when it happened to me, they did not give me a reason at all. Just some vague statement about Wisconsin being a "Right-to-work" state. There is a frequent practice of hiring individuals with job titles lower than their actual jobs entail so they can pay them less than the job is worth.
