Pros

Flexible working hours....and that's probably about it

Cons

A lot. Let's see -University pays significantly ($10k-$40k per year) less than other surrounding universities (i.e. Clemson, USC, Newberry College, Presbyterian U) -I was lied to on my compensation package. I did not find out that I was making $10,000 less per year until 7 months into the job. The classes I was promised on my compensation package were not given to me and I didn't find out until I looked at the course catalogue. When I talked to my supervisor about the decrease in my salary, I was written up -All Professors and Lecturers work multiple jobs within the university. I work with a professor who wears 5 titles for barely the pay of one. I personally work three jobs on campus in addition to teaching. -ZERO work life boundaries. I have received texts and emails from my supervisor and colleagues consistently between the hours of 12-6 AM -The benefits are AWFUL. The health insurance here is the worst I have ever experienced at a job. No family tuition benefit and NO FACULTY TUITION WAIVER -They are notoriously CHEAP. See information about the false compensation package. I have had co workers complete work they were promised payment for, and then were never paid by the university -The student body is the most uninspired, laziest, and most uncaring student body I have ever worked with. I have never had to track down so many students for not coming to class or not doing any work. -The staff culture mirrors the culture of a public K-12 school. Faculty tattle on each other. Faculty spy on each other. One faculty member subjected me to sexual harassment in and outside of work. -Faculty is non-union, leaving administration unchecked This place is looking for people willing to take a lot of abuse, do a lot of work, for very little pay. Since I don't know anyone like that, I wouldn't recommend anyone works here, especially in the title of a Lecturer
