Pros
Flexible schedule, supportive staff, training opportunities available, diverse range of interpreting venues and modes of interpretation, paid travel and wait times between appointments, employee status with rights, varied and interesting assignments (medical, educational, governmental, etc.). This is a great place to work if you want flexibility, and the opportunity to play a positive role in assuring understanding between diverse clients and providers. I learned and grew as an interpreter and as a person in this company.
Cons
The salary could be better. Some weeks are very slow, especially around holidays, and holidays are not paid if one is a part-time employee. There are not many opportunities to meet and interact with other interpreters, so it can feel a bit isolated.
