Pros
The creative aspect of learning all about picture framing. From an artistic standpoint, a very fun trade. The challenges in chop/join come from putting out an immaculate product within strict time constraints. There's a real sense of pride when/if you get good at it. Generally supportive co-workers strive to succeed as a team despite a wealth of obstacles.
Cons
Where to begin? Vastly underpaid and under-appreciated. No room for growth despite a revolving door of management. 12 hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday. Sales reps have no concern for the warehouses cut-off times, making it impossible to balance a workload. Hence, the quality of the product suffers and management blames everyone but themselves. Under-staffed facility and not climate controlled- The wood moulding warps as a result. Those who go above and beyond have no motivation to continue exceeding expectations. The only reward is gratitude and support from fellow team-members. Upper management continually blames team members and offers no solution to the same problems that have occurred for years. There is no individual accountability at all from above, and by all accounts this is getting worse. The revolving door of management and key associates will continue until they facilitate solutions to these many problems.
