Pros

The customers and the few core employees who are still here are like family.

Cons

Instituting a hiring freeze-working alone up to 6 days a week. Expecting your STM’s to explain to a customer why they got a 100.00 rent increase. Trying to sell merchandise when you have me raise 19.95 bubble wrap to 50.00 plus tax, and then wonder why merchandise sales are so poor. Micromanaging from higher ups-Store Managers used to have the latitude to make independent decisions for the good of their store and customer. Quarterly bonus payouts restructured so it is damn near impossible to hit KPI’s and if you are lucky enough to meet your financial goals, the payouts are lower so there’s no real incentive anymore. Expected to do all of the maintenance work whether you are physically capable or not. Can’t even offer your customer a cool drink anymore as they removed the 10.00/month water coolers. No coverage for vacations, sick days, etc. Punching in a minute or two early from lunch will earn you a warning that you are stealing time, but it’s ok if you work off the clock to get things done because you don’t have any other choice, because you are alone all the time. Don’t be late following up with an intro or courtesy call as you are called out in weekly team emails. Ding, ding, ding and LS wonders why we are all miserable. Don’t question the powers that be as the only answer you will receive is “This is the direction the company is going”.
