Horrible Experience, Not All it Seems, Stay Away - Marketing Strategist Lifebooker Employee Review

--Compensation - The compensation is fair. You can make commission on top of you base, depending on how hard your work, which is pretty great. --Work Life Balance - The W/L balance is there and very doable at LB. Our standard hours are 10am-6/7pm, and many days will be longer to accomplish what needs to be done for the day. --Office Culture & Leadership - Both the culture and leadership has made all the difference working her. LB has recruited some really talented and genuine people through their doors and they have always focused on creating an atmosphere that their employees could look forward to each day. The leadership at Lifebooker welcomes questions and wants to help their employees be better at what they do. They expect a lot out of their employees, but hard work is very much recognized and celebrated. Having come from the corporate world where there was less emphasis on office culture and valuing employees for hard work -- it was a breath of fresh air to join the Lifebooker team.

-- Internal Communication - communication between the various departments can be tricky with so many moving parts. -- Understaffed - Our accounting and tech teams are understaffed.

Mismanagement, middle managers who have no experience, limited bathroom and lunch breaks, limited discussions with co-workers, limited support. There is a reason the turnover rate here is so high. In my interview I was told the hours were 10-6 when in reality they're 9:30-7 at best and if you leave at 7 (work completed) you are scolded. How you work is dictated to you, you have no say in how you schedule your day to get work completed. If you don't meet seemingly impossible goals you're scheduled for meetings every 2 weeks with management to decided if you can stay or not. No matter how hard you work or how many promotions you bring in it's still not enough. The pay is not what is promised either. They said they'd give bonuses out that come to an annualized figure of 25-45K but in reality its less than 10k if that. Had I known this coming in I would not have taken the job as it does not meet my financial needs to raise a family in New York City. Breaks are regulated, almost every time you get up from your desk you're asked by a manager where you're going. Absolutely no personal calls are permitted at work even in an emergency they're stringently questioned. Interviewee's be ware. Lifebooker is not a pleasant place to work and as a result nearly a dozen on the sales force will be leaving by the new year.
