Pros

Lightbox has really made me feel welcome and part of the team whilst only being at Lightbox for a short period of time. They have implemented a new strategy called ‘lighting box’ to keep the whole team informed on what’s going on within the company. I have been fully supported by the directors to ensure that I understand my role and have adequate training. Within two weeks the director was discussing my future at Lightbox and potential ways in which they could support me through further development in my career. The negative reviews about Lightbox have not reflected my personal experience here, they really are a great company and really care for their employees.

Cons

Traffic in Birmingham can be busy, but luckily they have a flexible working policy which really helps with this.

Pros

The people Lightbox attract are incredible at what they do.

Cons

The amount of fake positive reviews on here is embarrassing. Classic Lightbox, quick to discredit the genuine reviews so they don’t have to take accountability for the many ways in which they’ve messed up. I could go on about the lack of integrity and the complete disregard for employee wellbeing as the team are continuously set unrealistic deadlines and expectations (and not listened to when they voice their concerns), but I think these fake reviews and responses really speak for themselves. This review “must surely be logged against the wrong business?!” Not only is that insulting the intelligence of former employees who have helped to keep Lightbox afloat, but it’s also making you look pathetic. Stop deflecting genuine feedback and start doing something about it rather than keeping up appearances, because it’s only a matter of time before more people realise this facade is a false representation of Lightbox. Although I’m sure you’ll be quick to come back and tell me that I’m wrong and everything is amazing. Oh, and congratulations Julie for winning the title of Business Woman of the Year and for further reinforcing that it’s not what you know, but who you know! Maybe stop bragging about the many meaningless awards you’ve won and look into why you continue to fail to grow as a business.

Hello again, it's Julie MD of Lightbox here. I'm sorry you seem to have had such a bad experience at Lightbox, it must have felt like a very long two years! As in many of my comments to the other reviews, I have talked about where we have taken feedback and made changes and we are making changes every day to be a better business. I've not denied we had some issues, I'm not denying we still have some improvements to make. We openly shared our recent scoring from exit interviews and have taken remedial action on the areas where we could do better. In terms of the attack on me personally, sadly as a strong woman leader in business, I have come to expect a minority of people will belittle my achievements. My family and friends are very proud of my most recent award as am I. It seems from your comment you have seen it on the only place I posted about it, LinkedIn, but chose not to share the views above without your anonymity. I wrote a new post tonight sharing your thoughts with the LI community. Interesting topic which I'm sure will create some healthy debate. I hope you've found some happiness in your new role. Thanks for your continued interest in me and Lightbox. Anyone else still reading this wants to know for sure what it's like working at Lightbox, go on LinkedIn, look who our people are, drop them a DM, they are a lovely bunch I'm sure they would love to answer your questions.

Pros

Lightbox proved to be a great agency for me to transition into the digital industry where by I was exposed to a wide range of areas in my job role and learn new skills. During my time at Lightbox there were some great initiatives that were introduced, including a flexible working approach. In my two years at Lightbox I was exposed to well-known brands and clients as well as receiving a progress plan that helped to define the direction I wanted my career to take. Lightbox has always attracted brilliant, talented people and I look forward to seeing where the agency goes in the future!

Cons

Due to changes in working patterns, office culture is not what it was. Bringing back more team events and time together would help to improve the team dynamics.
