Pros
They hire about 10 employees out of college every year to go on a 6 month training course, where you get to travel to different cities learning about the product and company. Basically a huge waste of company resources, as none of these new hires are actually interested in the product, they are just interested in making a decent salary outside of college and traveling around the country with an expense account and free dinners/drinks.
Cons
They keep old, tired men on the sales force for as long as possible. Lightolier has had multiple rounds of layoffs; no job security at all. The industry is constantly stealing quality people from Lightolier because they know that they have invested the time to train and educate their employees. Every sales office has incredibly high turnover to competitors. Once you establish yourself a bit in the industry, you will start getting a ton of calls from recruiters. Oh and you will have plenty of time to interview because you are never accountable for your days or the time you put into work.
