Pros
Met some incredible people in there; The company's purpose can be really motivating; Diversity and Inclusion meetings are great, and spark some interesting conversations; Ron and Alana (the CEO and the CTO) are really inspiring.
Cons
So much has changed since I joined HiMama. It changed from a dream workplace to a toxic environment. Management repeatedly blames COVID (or you) for everything that is wrong, without taking any responsibility to fix the problems that they are causing. I do believe that some departments can still be good, though. In my department, there's the illusion of a feedback loop. Management asks for feedback, but nothing is ever done with that feedback, unless it comes from specific people. Also, management can be really dismissive of the ideas and/or feedback that you're bringing, even if you have the data to back it up. Finally, since we started working from home, there's just too many meetings that bloat your schedule and leave little time to actually do your work. Meetings are often small talk and could be a lot more focused on actual work. I really wish I could stay at HiMama, but eventually management made it impossible for me to stay. It's really unfortunate.
