Pros
Liquid Thought (LT) expanded my horizons beyond what I thought I was capable of. My time there, albeit short due to personal circumstances has been invaluable. At LT I was exposed to so much more than a project manager that wrote briefs and tickets but was given the opportunity to expand my horizons in Strategy, UX, Account Management, Paid Media and Performance Marketing and physical marketing collateral for some of the most exciting clients in South Africa and globally. Other companies want to pigeonhole you, and at LT you choose your own adventure and let your talent and passion soar. In Marketing there is a lean team of ALL STARS, with skills , work ethic and vision beyond what I have seen in any other environment, this team produces the highest calibre of work, where perfection and client satisfaction is the bare minimum that you receive. Oh, and they are some of the most wonderfully kind and smart individuals - if I was back in Cape Town. I would be there in a heartbeat. CMO, Operations manager and the accounts and strategy team were an inspiration to be around. One of the Account Manager's was my deskmate from my first day back in the old office, and honestly what a powerhouse to learn from and to have on any team. If you get an opportunity to join their team, you're in for the learning experience of a lifetime, and you will be immersed in a fast-paced, exciting, glossy and rewarding world of marketing. If I were in Cape Town, and in marketing again, I would be there.
Cons
Work hard, play hard. If you want to learn, you have to lean in. It's hard work being in performance and digital marketing, but trust me, for the experience and transferable skills you gain, it is so worth it. For the employees of liquid thought, especially in accounts and strategy there is nothing they cannot achieve and or do.
