Pros

I received some amazing sales tools and experience, and the atmosphere is extremely positive and motivating. I do enjoy doing promotional sales, so once I was actually doing that part of the job, I felt like I was being productive.

Cons

What they did not tell me in plain English upfront was that I would be essentially working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for minimum wage. They had me travel without any offer of financial help in the form of a food and gas stipend, and was not provided with all necessary equipment for the project I was assigned to. I felt my questions were not answered fully and I felt I was in the dark quite a bit about what was going on half the time. They offered "promotions" but was given more responsibilities with no more pay. All the hard work is attached to a promise of about a year down the road, getting to open my own office and manage my own team doing sales, but the cost was too high for me. The only truly successful people I could see were people with no families anywhere to be found, and living as vagabonds.

Live Commercial Advertising Response

This review was recently discovered by management of Live Commercial Advertising Inc., and an effort to respond is below : As an employer, we try to provide the best working atmosphere we can. We acknowledge that as hard as we try, that we aren't the employer for everyone. We apologize if you feel like there was deceit upfront. We appreciate your feedback and are evaluating ways to correct any problems that may exist. It is only through feedback from employees that we can make our business better. We would appreciate it if you could contact us so we can talk about solutions to prevent these feelings with future employees. We do feel there is a serious misrepresentation when it comes to referring to us as a "Multi-level marketing scheme in disguise". We do not have an entry fee, our client's inventory sold/marketed is on consignment to the company (i.e. in no way paid for by employees), employees are W-2 (not 1099), and lastly, personal recruiting is not required to advance into management. Employees are compensated when going from the office directly to events with an average of 56.5 cents per mile. A paycheck is received no matter what. During initial training we pay hourly vs. performance; sometimes it is for hours worked and sometimes it is for commission, whichever is more. This is a payment arrangement that many sales based jobs do not have, including multi-level marketing. Hours are calculated based on timesheets signed and dated by our employees and rarely exceed 40-45 hours per week. Overtime compensation is ALWAYS (time and a half) logged automatically after 40 hours. On the subject of travel: As very fast growing company, we do offer travel opportunities with flight, hotel, and rental car (if necessary) ...all of which are paid for by the company, booked in advance. In all circumstances where longer than normal commutes are necessary, gas is reimbursed. Lastly, we feel this deserves special attention: "The only truly successful people I could see were people with no families anywhere to be found, and living as vagabonds." We obviously feel very strongly about this particular remark. We frequently have team nights and often invite the families, wives, significant others, and kids (when appropriate) to participate. To be fair, our management training program is vigorous, and as a startup firm, obviously managers (i.e. more "successful people") also work hard. Sometimes in a start-up sacrifices are made ("and as a current manager, I have made the decision to wait to expand my family"), fortunately, even though it is challenging to balance immense business growth and family time, it is only 22 miles north one has to look to find another office where the manager is LDS, has 5 children, and operates in a newly opened, highly successful office. Once again we value your feedback and hope that you will contact us so that we can take steps to prevent these mis-understandings in the future.

Pros

I have worked at Live Commercial for about 5 months. In that time, I have learned more about myself, sales, managing, and what a positive mind-set can do, than I have learned in the rest of my 20 years of job experience combined. The company culture and atmosphere are amazing. Every single day I am surrounded by people that are positive, complimentary, driven, and that want to learn and grow. People that see and understand the bigger picture, take pride in their work, and go above and beyond daily to succeed. But more importantly, every single person in this business is also dedicated to helping others learn and grow and become successful as well. What I have learned, and what I am working to accomplish with Live Commercial is invaluable. I could go to school for four years, and have a career for 15 years after that, and I still wouldn't have learned or accomplished what I have in the past 5 months with Live Commercial.

Cons

I did have to take a pay-cut to come to work here, and there is some hard work involved.. HOWEVER... the pay-cut is temporary, and the opportunity that this company offers is WELL worth a year or so (possibly less) of "less pay", and "hard work", while I steadily work up the ladder. It is a choice that is not right for everyone... but if you are the type of person that wants to have a different (better) life, that wants your hard work to pay off and be recognized, that wants to get out of the daily grind of a corporate or dead end job, and that is willing to put a little bit of time and effort to get that; this is definitely the right company for you!

Pros

From the beginning, I was told very little about what the company does. They said we work with high-end products, and there is an opportunity for advancement. Seemed like a good opportunity as I had just finished my degree and needed some real life experience. Also, everyone seemed to be very friendly and fun.

Cons

I was sadly mistaken. I ended up in a high-pressure sales position within a sams club warehouse. They say that sales aren't the main focus, but in the very short amount of time I was there, that is all they ever talked about. It seemed that people feared losing their job if they didnt get enough sales in a given week. I had done one other sales position in the past, but it was with a very well-known, fortune 100 company. At Live I found myself working 50+ hours a week selling products like pillows, lotions, car wax, etc. just to be paid minimum wage. That was the other problem. The product is CONSTANTLY changing and you're left to start all over again. The training process is not anywhere near organized, either. Maybe this could be some good "experience" for some people, but I think you should really look into it before starting this position.
