Pros

Stable company with good job opportunities. Customer, people and equality focussed.

Cons

If you look hard enough there are negatives in every company. Pay and reward has slipped slightly against inflation in recent years. There is nothing significant to comment on under this heading.

Pros

Good pay, benefits, pension, .....

Cons

I worked for this housing provider for a considerable number of years. During my later years with the company, I observed significant changes that impacted the organisation’s effectiveness and culture. Standards appeared to decline, with a noticeable trend of internal promotions influenced by factors other than merit. This resulted in departments increasingly lacking the necessary knowledge and experience, which in turn affected the quality of service provided. The organisation seemed to shift focus away from its core mission of delivering quality housing, repairs, and services, placing greater emphasis on procedural compliance, language, and behavioral measures rather than practical outcomes. There was a perception of disproportionate reward, with senior managers receiving high remuneration for limited measurable contribution, while staff at operational levels faced ongoing pressure. Additionally, I became aware of ethically questionable practices, including well-paid managers residing in company housing at subsidised social rates. My decision to leave was prompted by workplace bullying from the manager immediately above me. This manager subsequently departed a few months later. I personally felt that my departure was influenced by my willingness to challenge convention, speak truthfully, and not simply conform as a “Yes Person.”
