Pros
Flexible scheduling Ability to work remotely Employer is personable and amiable
Cons
In my opinion, I really hated working here, and was greatly apprehensive of the mindless work that was given to me each time I called in for my shift. There aren't really options to improve as an intern. Even though there are seemingly separate jobs for each intern, most do the same few menial (and at times, overlapping) tasks of organizing and updating files, copying and pasting text in various templates, calling potential clients/companies, and other clerical duties. There’s some writing opportunities, but these tend to be position specific, and are usually just writing summaries. Sometimes I did jobs that weren't related to my intern position, and felt like I was just doing busy work to fill in the down time I had between tasks. It's an unpaid internship, but aren't these types of positions required to approximate an education gained from an academic setting or something? I agreed to this unpaid internship because I thought I would receive some form of education, or be taught specialized skills. I was under the impression that I would gain these insights, but that wasn't the case; I did not learn anything I didn’t already know.
