The customers are way more interesting than I expected. Like actual real estate investors with complex situations, not just people calling to reset a password. Team is small enough that you actually matter. My manager is solid. I've gotten raises every six months without even having to bring it up.  Teammates are great.

First month I was totally lost. They basically hand you some documentation and a login and say good luck. Took me a few weeks before I stopped feeling like I was making stuff up on the fly. Also the Slack notifications never stop, even when you're trying to focus.

Total ownership over tech decisions.  Built very complex things that very few people in the world get to build.  You're responsible for things and people trust you with them. Team is strong and leadership is very supportive of building high quality code.  Everyone cares a lot and strong performers are rewarded.

Get pulled in a lot of different directions.  Customers are demanding and we constantly had to juggle competing priorities.
