Literally the worst place I’ve ever worked for - Video Editor London Real Employee Review

Pros

You may get some decent guests under your showreel, however it’s now full of crypto ‘buffs’ so even that isn’t a pro anymore.

Cons

It’s simple - Brian Rose doesn’t know how to run a company or treat staff fairly at all. You can see that from his dwindling views on his YouTube channel. When I first joined I put in 110% staying behind all the time, and only to be lied to about a pay rise and also getting into trouble for being late because of trains. Despite giving him many extra hours of my time - this wouldn’t be enough for him even though I was late by 10 mins max. Additionally I was held ransom for my last pay check because Brian is Brian and has an incredibly fragile ego.

The owner is not great as a boss and can lead to a toxic work culture.

Pros

- The office is modern and nice to look at.

Cons

- I never got paid on time, had to email 4 or 5 times for them to bother to pay me. 3 weeks later they finally decided to do it. Considering there are only 15 employees in the office, I don't see how a bank transfer should take so long, when I was the one who sorted out the amount owed. - You're made to work for free overtime most nights, without even a thank you. Instead you get a blank stare from management as you walk out the office. - CEO didn't acknowledge my existence throughout the entire period I worked there. Constantly ignored me when I tried to greet him. I guess I'm not worthy enough for his attention. - Management don't bother to reply to your emails even if it's important. - Toxic workplace with managers contradicting each other, no sense of structure in the work and everything blamed on the least senior person when something needs changed. - There are some nice guests that come in, but as an employee you're told to keep quiet and work in the background while they get a tour of the office. - If you're there to get a sense of what a studio feels like, don't bother because there's no consistency between the brand guidelines/submitted work - everything is just a mess including file structures on the "server". - You're asked to rush work to meet deadlines which randomly change every few hours without anyone telling you.
