Cons
The CEO is no doubt the biggest issue here. Several years ago, he was a good young CEO, willing to listen and learn from anyone. But since the unicorn status was given to Loom, he now thinks and acts like he's god's gift to the world. But he isn't really all that. He no longer listens to advice or suggestions and just does whatever he wants. Don't question his plans (which change constantly) or requests he gives you, just do it or else you will be next in line to be ousted! And this, they've done to several really good people at Loom. Leadership team is in flux because of the wishy washy ways that the founders lead us. Performance reviews are happening yet they don't listen to words of advice when feedback is given back to them. They use these review sessions as a way to exterminate the people who are no longer in their favor. Yes, there is favoritism. Once you're no longer the coolest kid in town, they stop finding time for you. When this happens, know that you're on your way out. They've let go majority of the culture bearers of the company with not a care at all. Everyone is leaving Loom because the environment is too toxic. They are burning us out. They set up high high expectations and then will try to set you on fire if you don't meet these goals. They will never set you up for success. Why are the founders writing their own 5 star positive reviews on Glassdoor? They're obviously wondering how they could go from a 97% approval rating of a CEO down to 77%. They must have complained to Glassdoor and removed some negative ratings they received. Probably claiming they were trolls when really, we are employees writing these reviews. Why not instead listen to your current and former employees! Why are they giving you a 1 star rating now? Get back down to earth and stop feeling so full of yourselves. Don't let go of people so easily. Because of what you guys have done, the culture at Loom is almost non-existent today. People are getting sick because of the stress and burden you put on us. So Loom is not a place that anyone should be in unless you are challenged by people like the founders who will eventually ask your manager to let you go.
