Lowe's Home Improvement

Engaged employer

Beware of Lowe's referring you to Ethicspoint. HR also will not help you. They are a tool of management. - CSA Lowe's Home Improvement Employee Review

Pros

A paycheck. I'll be leaving very soon.

Cons

Management is disrespectful and abusive. Most employees are very poor quality people. Managers come from this same group of people so don't expect much from them. Corporate thinks they are elite and could care less about store level employees. Most associates leave or are fired in 6 months or less. Management maintains control via managing by chaos. They can't compete with Home Depot and Menards. This store's volume has declined every year for the past 3 or so. Time to clean house or close. Most of the full timers are lazy and try to push off work on part timers. They are also very good at feigning injuries so they don't have to do their job. Ethicspoint is a complete smoke screen to make you go away. If you have an issue, sue! Lowe's will pay. I've never seen so many injuries at one location and the internal politics are absurd for a small retail store.

Pros

Remote, great starting pay for entry level remote. Team environment was the best part of the experience.

Cons

Very limited to no advancement opportunities with pay increases that don't even match cost of living increases. No HR support and the culture reflects that... not a company that has any flexibility in the way employees are handled when they make a mistake it stacks and is not removes for a year. If you have three mistakes even if they are in totally different areas they will terminate even tenured employees with otherwise perfect records. Not a way to keep good employees.
