Pros

The truth reveals itself more and more once you're not in the midst of the toxic environment that is LZ because it starts to seem like this place consumes your life after a while. Once you're out, your mind is less clouded. Any pros LZ might have could be found elsewhere without all of the negative impact you will experience on your well-being.

Cons

If you can think of it, it has probably happened at LZ and was likely covered up in an illegal manner. They just haven't been called out on all of it yet. Lubrizol hates a person that actually knows what they are talking about and thinks with their own brain. They love the submissive types that suck-up and cry or does who knows what to stay in good standing. You can't trust anyone here and every "man" is for himself. You will find good people here but it will be difficult to know who is a "paid actor" and who actually cares for you because the people here can be incredibly backstabbing and fake spies. You would swear that someone has good intentions and is genuinely helping you but in reality they're just studying you so that they can report back. Confidentiality doesn't exist. IT. ALL. HAPPENS. AT LUBRIZOL. In recent news, Lubrizol is reportedly "paying off" employees to give them positive reviews in an attempt to bury all of the negative ones and to also boost their ratings score. Another tactic to cover up their toxic ways. Lubrizol is likely to use money, fear mongering, gaslighting, etc. to control anyone working for them. They do so much dirt that they need to know that you're loyal. Any indication that you're not and....woops. Lubrizol has to be some kind of gang/cult at the very core, I'd swear it. They will also rid of anyone who knows too much and says too much because they will assume that those people might report them. If they know you're too intelligent and not just another suck-up, you will be their biggest target. YOU MUST PLAY DUMB. DONT SHOW ALL YOUR CARDS UPFRONT. Proof of that is in the history of ex-employees and employees who receive falsely negative performance reviews. Their goal is to ruin your reputation before they rid of you so that they have something to fight with even if it is a complete lie. They use layoffs or "reductions of force" as their means of letting these people go if LZ has no other legitimate reasons to fire them. They place spies in their DEI groups, quite possibly including people from say, their law department who likely couldn't care less about DEI. Isn't that strange? Lubrizol is a big act. Nothing about Lubrizol is real. They are willing to "appear" to care about certain people, going against the true beliefs of the people controlling things behind the scenes while "being inclusive" but we know where their minds really are. Bigotry. The type of people behind places like this have no empathy, no consideration, and it is amazing to think that these people have families of their own while running a corporation in the way this place is run. They will refuse to investigate issues until word of an audit arises, lawsuits, or anything that might result in some type of legal action because the truth is that all of the corruption is written into the fabric of this place. They are not surprised by the reports they receive because they already know about the corruption. Its as if they only put people in places of power if they are corrupt or easily controlled. Its as if the corruption is written into the script. They're all willing to do pretty much anything to keep afloat and that is a crazy thing to think about. Avoid places like this and dig through the other reviews that have support behind them. There is a reason that none of these 4 and 5 star reviews get any support or thumbs up. It is because they are lies and half-truths. It is a miracle that the employees/ex-employees haven't done something like Unionized or come together to take legal action... Hopefully they are busy building evidence. Hopefully not too many of the existing employees are blinded by the "sacrificial bonus pay-outs" Lubrizol has provided (not competitive bonuses at all). More like, everyone is terrified of losing their jobs and has been fear mongered into submission. If you don't cry and/or beg at some point, consider yourself a target. This place has too many enemies on the inside and congratulations to them for surviving as long as they have without going noticed. While we're on that note, Lubrizol ALLOWS retaliation by the way if they believe it will be in their best interest. They ALLOW their employees to become injured without compensation despite all the evidence. They will NOT care or have your back and you WILL be disposed of for speaking up about anything. They will USE their employees and proceed to kick back in their fancy offices, sweep up the gains, and sleep hard at night. Never mind the fabricated investments into STEM, diversity, International involvement, etc. They're just trying to save face as much as possible. Lubrizol has shown that they tolerate and probably even encourage environments that make certain people feel like they aren't welcomed or cared about. Therefore, they are never going to stop getting messages like these. The more they try to cover up the truth, the louder these messages will be until they GET the message.

Pros

Even with current political tensions, LZ is still allowing cultural programs which support diversity and inclusion throughout the organization. Working in a lab setting and having supportive management that understand work life balance is beneficial as long as the work is getting done. Supportive of using company time to volunteer in community investment. Most employees are supportive and willing to help each out.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. Low yearly pay increases, with too much focus on pushing individuals to do more as “personal development”. Health benefit package is limited and costly, vacation promised isn’t always given, too many middle and upper management, with continued turnover before you even know who they are and what they do. Most scientist and engineers have no other working experience besides education and lack experience, which prevents opportunities for innovation. Co-ops have better opportunities than long term full time employees.
