Pros
Work From Home. For some.
Cons
Lumens is a train wreck of a company with no clear direction and a leadership team that operates more like a high school clique than a professional business. They constantly change compensation plans—every three months, you’re forced to sign a new one or lose your job. There’s zero stability, and employees who get promoted often find themselves jobless when their positions are suddenly eliminated.
The company is still in its infancy and struggling to figure out how to operate, yet there are plenty of competitors doing this business model way better with competent leadership. At Lumens, it’s all about who you know—if you’re not in the “friend group” at the top, don’t expect to have a voice. HR isn’t there to help employees; they act as enforcers for leadership’s poor decisions, even going so far as to falsely accuse an employee of drinking on the job, with no apology when proven wrong. Just swept under the rug. Oh. Yeah. They eliminated his position too.
Basic workplace rights are treated as optional—breaks were limited, and sometimes you had to go without. The overall experience was chaotic, toxic, and completely mismanaged. I stuck it out longer than I should have, and I’m beyond relieved to no longer be part of this flaming disaster of a company. If you have other options, take them. Lumens is not worth the stress or instability.
