Pros

Nothing really. Some of the agencies you end up at have perks (good location, food nearby).

Cons

Expect exceptionally low pay, extra hours after work, and a restrictive non-compete. The company likes to act progressive, but they're a perfect example of government waste and exploitative business in the 21st century. Do you like graft? Step 1: Higher more employees than you need on a contract Step 2: Over bill the government with inflated contractor titles Step 3: Pay employees 25% of what the government pays Step 4: Profit It doesn't matter if you have an MBA. You'll be getting 30-40% below fair market wages. The bonuses are joke. The other benefits are standard. On top of client work, expect to be voluntold for corporate work, like interviews or social media. I hear they now make people go to classes after work hours. Be honest guys, you aren't Booz Allen.

Pros

I had the pleasure of working at M Powered Strategies, and it was a genuinely rewarding experience. The company has a strong culture of collaboration, learning, and professional growth. From day one, I felt supported and encouraged to expand my skills and take on new challenges. Kendall Lott and Andrew Macdonald were exceptional leaders, both highly professional and approachable. They took the time to mentor me and share their deep knowledge of organizational strategy and project management. Their guidance helped me develop a stronger understanding of consulting and leadership in the public sector. M Powered Strategies truly lives its mission of empowering people and organizations to perform at their best. It’s a place where learning, teamwork, and integrity are valued every day. I’m very grateful for the experience and for the opportunity to have been part of such a dedicated and thoughtful team.

Cons

None. This is purely theoretical and not based on any negative experience (as this field is mandatory). I recall that the team has been very intentional about implementing more regular one-on-one check-ins with direct reports to help maintain a stronger pulse on team morale and evolving training needs.

Pros

Friendly environment, opportunity to work closely with the CEO and shareholder, can grow within the company if you're willing to work for it.

Cons

Small company so pay might not be as competitive.
