The mental and emotional toll that an incident of sexual misconduct, and the company’s larger cultural problem, took on me was so great that I do not feel it is appropriate to go into the positive aspects of my employment in the space of this review.
Cons
I want to support the previous reviews that mention the rampant sexual harassment/misconduct at M Shanken Communications. I was a target of this misconduct myself, and because of this, I no longer felt safe or comfortable working at the company. Several of my female colleagues shared similar experiences. M Shanken does not have a formal HR department, and upper management is largely male, so I did not feel it was an option to share my experience at the time it occurred. I imagine that if I felt this way, there must be other stories of sexual harassment and misconduct of which I am not aware. I do not recommend working at or with M Shanken.
