Pros
The salaries and benefits are competitive. Provides an opportunity to gain experience with a large firm.
Cons
Senior management is not supportive of growth or advancement for their employees. Some of the principals behave unprofessionally, have big egos and are unpleasant to work with. Employees are given work that is outside their experience level without adequate training in order to make the budget for projects work. The expectations for the amount of time it takes to do the work are unrealistic, creating a stressful, sweatshop work environment. Mid and lower level employees work long hours while the principals are often unavailable. Employees are told to put hours towards projects in another office if a project is over budget or not record their hours. Senior management is quick to blame employees for errors that were caused by their lack of oversight or mistakes and reluctant to share credit for successes. There is a lack of cooperation between the offices, especially within the DC office.
