Pros
MIC can be best described as a solid strong powerhouse in the quite narrow market for customs software. + Market leader and therefore job safety is quite high + Atmosphere in office is good (of course my point of view) + A lot of first class customers, therefore you get in contact with a lot big international companies despite working for a quite small software house + Work/Life balance and possibilities for self time management are good (holidays etc.) + Has cafeteria and offer daily menus + Has a big parking lot + Flexible working hours + Due to market position and the nature of the market very crisis resistant + Nice out of office benefits like company car, company events (Christmas) etc.
Cons
- Lot of legacy code and technologies of which the documentation is very poorly. - Lack of willingness to invest in new technologies or partly rewrite historically grown applications or at least parts of it.. This would also increase quality, maintainability and decrease heterogeneous and customized solutions for each and every customer. - Too database heavy approach - Include employee opinion more in operative decisions - Salaries are not the highest - Lacks in office benefits like free coffee, fruits, small snacks, refreshments etc. which is almost a standard in now a days software houses. This would be simple way to express appreciation for employees and would attract good people
