Management cannot seem to understand that if people keep leaving. And they let good people go all the time. There are rounds of layoffs despite reporting a huge increase of profits. Every one or two months people are let go silently without any info to the rest of the company explaining who to contact about that person's work. Its as if they bore of you and want something new. The very brief positive reviews are posted by their leaders, and are not real The company is too small to have that many reviews. New hires are welcomed warmly, then thrown in to projects with little guidance. Because every person that does not bill time to a project and instead helps you, is putting their job at risk. There are many manger level people in this small company that do not bill their time, therefore you are working to pay their salaries. And these managers have done business this way for years. Hire inexperienced people from college to keep pay low. No work/life balance because you must bill every minute to a client, and take lunch or "bio" breaks on your own time, as well as notes, emails, project organization and other non-billable time after a minimum of 8 hours is billed each day. It's been said that if you work 40 hours of billable time, you are "doing the minimum." There is no respect for your time. No warning about late nights. You could be stuck waiting for an answer late in the evening, and wondering how to bill that time to show you have been working over 12 hours . But the project is only allowed a small number of hours because you are supposed to work on other projects that day. You may have to work on someone else's project and try to fix their errors late at night before it is sent out as a final file. Feedback is encouraged, but you are seen as a troublemaker when trying to fix recurring issues or improve things. There is pressure to be quiet and work late to keep your job. This company believes we should "figure it out" instead of following sage advice from experienced experts in the field. Their website used to advertise, "We get it done fast as fast as f###!" True story. HR began harassment training in 2024 because they desperately needed to inform their staff how to behave. The spending seems excessive. They provide office lunches and create expensive unique promotional items, and constantly change software for employee payroll, time management systems and meeting/messaging apps, but let people go all the time to save money. It seems like they are chasing whatever new shiny, trendy thing is out there then switch to something new.
