Pros

Good pay, bonuses and pension but not worth sacrificing your career in return for these things and it's hard to leave with a 6 month notice period over your head.

Cons

Everything you can imagine. Poor culture, an old guard that doesnt like change, no investment in you or your career, an old boy's club mentality where smooth talking is better than actual delivery, no ambitions, poor recruitment team and processes which results in talentless staff, the worst HR team you've ever worked with who will do nothing even if the accusation is bullying, no cultural values, you will learn to lie so well thay even you wont know what the truth is anymore, no one will ever help you with anything so you'll have to master ever skill across all departments, the answer to most ideas is no or an indirect no by changing subjects... I could go on for another 10 pages...

Pros

The few good people that hadn't tried to escape or got 'disappeared' made some days bearable, but in retrospect, it was more like the comradery of the trenches. It's a real shame as it was once a very good company to work for. The pension and life insurance benefits were good.

Cons

It started going downhill when the CEO was managed out for standing his ground against the insurance arms of the business that he supported. After that, the COO of the London Market business became the new CEO of the Services company. Senior & then middle managers would disappear with immediate effect without warning, often overnight to 'pursue other opportunities'. Vacant roles were combined creating unsustainable workloads and any pushback or dissention was stamped out. Toxic blame culture was rife, and overworked employees either kept their heads down, quit, or were managed out. More for less was the mantra, and everyone knew it.

Pros

As far as regulated environments go, it’s not a bad enjoyment to work in. You are given full autonomy over your workstream and the ability to learn new technologies.

Cons

Working with certain service suppliers can be challenging. Also, deadlines can be very tight, causing long working hours.
