The pay is much lower than equivalent roles in other companies both within the entertainment industry and outside it. The hours are also very long for the UK (9:30-6:30) with many instances of working late into the night being chalked up to the job.
There is also definitely a ‘MUBI’ way of doing things which can be frustrating coming from other companies as they can be resistant to change or feedback.
There is also unfortunately no work life balance at all, and seemingly no desire to address this (or the low pay) because they know that there are dozens of people lining up to take a job if someone leaves.
Pay is also very hidden and many employees have no idea about salary bands beyond basic and lower management roles
