Pros

Macro Connect is pretty laid back in general. As long as you're showing initiative and making some progress they are willing to be patient and teach you. This is a company that is definitely set on growth and forward movement, so I also don't expect all of my con's to be permanent, as they were my experience during my employment, which is a pro. During my time the PTO was very fair, negotiable, and available. During times of COVID and other sickness they were taking care of their people. But obviously, if you're excessive or abusing it, a line will be drawn. Overall, this is a great place to get started, learn the in's and out's of IT as a business. You'll have time to make honest mistakes and learn from them, and learn the etiquette of this line of business.

Cons

Macro Connect is focused on change and growth, but unfortunately, during my time with them these were the negative things I experienced. -Lack of upward mobility: There were some lateral movements from one position to another that felt like it may of been a promotion or a raise, but it wasn't. There may have been $1,000 per year added to your salary if this happened, but nothing significant. -Little to no negotiation on pay. -Working over 40 hours is something highly encouraged by Macro Leadership although not required or enforced. Do this at your own risk, and do not expect to get ANY additional pay for this, even in the future. You'll more than likely receive something akin to a gold star given to a kindergartener, and a pat on the back. This gets old, pay your employees for their work. -Their pay scale is on the lower side. They both live and die by their largest clients, and have failed to negotiate pay increases with their clients in a timely manner. Which I think has led them to a tough, but recoverable situation. -Insufficient reimbursement for the use of your own personal vehicle. I hope this has changed, but for years they were paying 45cents per mile while the standard and state maximum was 58 cents. It was my experience that if something happened to my vehicle while on Macro Connects time, it would also come out of my pocket to fix, and I'd also have to take the time off work and use PTO to fix this. Even on a cheap, efficient vehicle, the front end work required from hitting pot holes throughout Detroit could result in thousands of dollars in damages. -
