Pros

The people and the flexibility are awesome...I love the option of being able to work from home and focus on my work instead of unproductive office activities.

Cons

Pay is not good. They ay they are in line with national averages, but they have not adjusted for inflation. They place people in roles that they are. not necessarily qualified to do...I don't mean with degrees or anything, I appreciate real life work experience, but sometimes it seems people have no business doing the jobs their doing...they just wanted to do it. It also stinks that people can only be promoted once a year...like, what? Who does that? Also they are a little over the top in pushing their thoughts and opinions on social topics onto their employees.

Pros

MakeMusic provides a wonderful working environment. Employees are passionate about our products and shared values. Managers are supportive, convey clear business strategy, and are open to feedback. Managers have listened and responded well to employees during the challenges of COVID. The structure of working alongside other brands at Peaksware, such as Alfred Music and TrainingPeaks, improves the MakeMusic environment. There are ample opportunities for growth.

Cons

The kombucha on tap was watery once.

Pros

Music is universal spanning all cultures and crossing all borders. MakeMusic's products are all about creating, sharing, teaching, and learning music. Helping people share the passion and joy of their musical creations and talents with others. For this reason, the team at MakeMusic is equally passionate and joyful. Everyone, many of them musicians themselves, is supportive and caring and come together to create products for musicians to love.

Cons

Like any other company, it must make money to survive. The music software market is small and crowded with many participants and products. Remaining profitable can unfortunately lead to hard decisions about what products and which projects are most important. If something is not providing enough to the bottom line, then the cost of maintaining that piece cannot be reconciled and things have to give, products canceled, teams dissolved, and sometimes peoples' roles eliminated.
