Makor Disability Services

Is this your company?

It is not worth working for this company long term. - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Makor Disability Services Employee Review

Pros

Lots of downtime. Free food on site. Vacation hours.

Cons

In the long run this company does not give out sufficient raises. If they do give out raises, it will be 10 cents to everybody. They don't take into consideration the duration that you work there, or effort, when giving raises. You need to change diapers, or clean feces off of people, or urine, shower them, give out food, possibly physically restrain aka SCIP them, when necessary. You take the garbage out, possibly drive, answer phones, answer doors, put away food, clean some, make sure the special needs people have clothing for the next day, and shave them. There are also diseases you can catch, because people are in close proximity, for example MRSA, the flu, and a stomach bug. You bring them to the doctor, speak to the doctors, summarize it to a nurse. You have to tell the nurse over the phone what the special needs person is experiencing, while the nurse is at her home, she gives instructions on what to do. They will make an extravagant party, "showing their appreciation" instead of giving raises. I DO NOT recommend working here long term. Any benefits they offer come out of the employees paycheck too, except for vacation hours. You will only see the CEO when he is not on his throne, which is once blue moon.
