Pros

1. Great place to work for parents. Work/life balance is prioritized and role modeled throughout the organization. Lots of resources like emergency childcare, great health plans, and mental health support, in the US 18 weeks of paid maternity/paternity leave, expanded leave for pregnancy loss. 2. A company that is values based, investing in the future in meaningful ways through sustainability and climate action. 3. Career progression - This is a truly global company, the sky is the limit. Many associates change functions, markets, segments. Can truly design the career you desire. 4. Privately held company - Able to make longer term decisions, think future-back, and experiment.

Cons

1. Can be too focused on collaborating, which leads to slow decision making. Be prepared to spend time on soft influencing and persuasion. 2. Tends to follow best-in-class practices vs. create them - Mars tends to adopt new capabilities after they are already well established amongst their peer set. 3. Mars tends to be more focused on its internal metrics vs. benchmarking externally. This can lead to a culture with an aversion to risk taking, because people compare to what we have done vs. what the competitive set is actually doing.

Pros

Great people who believe in a common mission. Strong leadership and support.

Cons

Budgets and decision making for technical programs are centralized at a high level with little to no consideration for how it affects individual programs and their unique needs. Heavy bureaucracy involved in setting up simple things.
